      <image:title>About Us - It all started when…</image:title>
<image:caption>I saw this lovely, understated Art Deco Swiss (1933) watch in my local jewellers-I was smitten and have been on an horological journey ever since. My collection of fine and collectable vintage watches now includes well over 100 pieces and continues to grow. I hope that you too will find a watch from my collection to inspire your interest. Images representing a growing portion of my range can be found via the ‘Brands’ page which is linked above. Please see the ‘Upcoming Events’ page for information on where to find me. I have a small permanent collection on display in Norwich-see the Norwich link. If you would like further information or simply to say hello, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the ‘Contact’ page tab.</image:caption>

      <image:title>LONGINES (pronounced Lon-jean) - Vintage Longines Watches</image:title>
<image:caption>With its origins in 1832 in St Imier, Switzerland, Longines (meaning Long Meadows) is THE the oldest patented trademark in the world continuously registered with WIPO (the world governing body for Intellectual property). Vintage Longines watches are arguably the best value to be found in the world of vintage horology. A study commissioned by the New York Times in 1913 asked the public which brand of luxury watch they would prefer if price were not a consideration. An incredible 92% of the respondents replied they would buy a Longines. Famously worn (and part designed) by Charles Lindbergh - Longines was the first watch to be flown across the Atlantic in 1927. From 1920-50s Longines was a more expensive and more prestigious brand than Rolex, Omega, Zenith or Jaeger Le Coultre. Today Longines vintage watches can be bought for much less than its’s historical competitors. Longines, for now at least, remains outstanding value-for-money with exciting appreciation potential.</image:caption>

      <image:title>I.W.C - Schaffhausen - I.W.C Schaffhausen</image:title>
<image:caption>This simple but aspirational name was coined by an American, Florentine Ariato Jones in 1869. IWC is located in Schaffhausen on the River Rhine in German -Switzerland. Without doubt an under-the-radar brand (IWC for short) is not well known to the public but revered by the horological world. This situation is best summarised by the saying; if you want to impress your car mechanic-tell them you have bought a Rolex, ‘if you wish to impress your watchmaker tell them you bought an IWC!’. In the period 1946-1965 IWC produced some of its finest work and watch collectors agree that the hand-wound watches with the calibre 88 and 89 are works of art. My collection currently includes fine examples of these very watches essential to any serious collection of Swiss watches.</image:caption>

With a power reserve of c38 hours and f = 18000 A/h the highly finished movement includes a breguet hairspring and ruby jewels set in brass chantons which are only then then screwed in to the movement plate.
